Last resident's remnant.

Last resident's remnant

Where did you come from?
Lying on your back
legs up
still as death -
a roach.

When asked - What rejuvenates you?

Rejuvenate Me!

YOU  rejuvenate me -
your jokes and smiles
your  funny faux pas

I rejuvenate me -
my poems
my drawings
my humor

NATURE rejuvenates me -
her breezes
her clouds
her rainy, misty days,
a purple thistle
in the sidewalk crack

When?

When?

A week ago, I wondered
when you'd show up.
You're late this year
leaving us to wait
while you linger in other places.

We are having
a lovely time
as things are -
sinking into a lazy
complacency - actually.

But the thought of all
you'd bring -
your breezy ways,
your color,
the sound of you rustling about
makes me wonder -
when?

Then, finally, today!
I guess the earth
tilted just enough -
the precise degree
and you arrived
in all your color,
crispness
and salutations.
A late October -
Autumn

History - a mystery

History - a mystery

Golden boy
King of Egypt
Chariot racer
Youthful, tragic death
Enclosed in a dazzling sarcophagus
King Tut

Incestuous
Brother-sister-parent
Born deformed
Club foot
Wide womanly-hips
buck teeth
King Tut

1st and 2nd editions

1st and 2nd editions

Everyone knows
The first edition
Is a learning run
Expect some errors
And allow for the
Lessons to sink in
Making room for a second edition

Finding Faults

Looking at errors
One may miss out on what is
Correct and lovely

When I'm Sixty-four

When I'm Sixty-four

I was only thirty-four
 prime-time
I fell, you fell, we fell
UP.

A grand ride
30 years of
the best
the most productive
the most creative
the happiest

now I'm 64
thanks be to the universe
and we're still falling UP.
